Desulfurization reaction shall occur when flue gas contacts with the solutions containing desulfurizer, and desulfurization products shall be generated and dealt with in wet state.
Advantages:
Gas-liquid reaction → high reaction rate
High desulfurization efficiency → generally above 90%
Operation cost is low
Mature technology → wide applications
Safe and reliable production operation → more than 80% of total installed capacity for desulfurization
Disadvantages:
Corrosion exists → equipment and pipes need to take anti-corrosion measures;
Slurry needs to have a post-treatment system, covering a large area;
The investment cost is high.
The whole FGD unit is divided into five systems: absorption, oxidation, concentration, flue gas defogging and product dehydration. The desulfurization and absorption tower is carbon steel structure with multi-layer spray device. The inner wall of the tower is glass scale anticorrosive.
